Lily Bee is the stage name of creative Lily Becker, who is based in Memphis and St. Louis. When her parents forced her to take piano lessons while in Kindergarten, she was beside herself. However, over the years she slowly realized how much she truly loved music and the creative process as a whole. In 2020, on a complete whim, she applied for an internship at Memphis Music Initiative (MMI), a non-profit organization that provides youth with real experiences in music and arts organizations in the city. To her absolute surprise, she got the internship. And for the next three summers, she spent eight weeks with like-minded peers who also loved music and art. Through this experience, she got to absorb much more of the soul-filled Memphis than she did living the suburbs. And in her final year at MMI, she was placed at The Consortium MMT (TCMMT), where she discovered her love of production and writing, alongside other MMI interns and TCMMT musicians, Brandon Lewis and 24Goldface.

Lily Bee is at the very beginning of her journey as a creative. She hopes to grow in skills and confidence during her time at St. Louis University (SLU), where she is studying Anthropology, Sociology, and Studio Art. She is currently the secretary of SLU’s only Hip Hop Dance team, XQuizit. This dance team focuses on student-made choreography and performance, presenting dances around the St. Louis area and in Chicago at The One Street Dance Showcase.
